You build units that can combine into army that consists of max 6 other units including hero units and you fight in tactical turnbased combat map which has elements like terrain effects and cover. You can engage others in diplomacy or just fight them. ![]() You build your colonies on sectors and as they grow, you can attach 4 more sectors to it and choose a specialization for them, (food, power, production, research and some special cases). I have not played any of the older Age of Wonder -games that are in a fantasy setting but this one gave me the impression of being Civilization in space that I have been looking for ever since Civilization Beyond Earth left me disappointed.
